About

Dr. Nadia du Plessis is a specialist anaesthesiologist who completed her undergraduate medical training in 2013 at the University of the Free State. She then completed her medical intership and community service in Pietermaritzburg and Bloemfontein respectively. Dr Du Plessis started her specialist training in 2017 and qualified as a specialist anaesthesiologist in 2020 from the University of the Free State and the College of Medicine South Africa. She has a particular interest in paediatric and cardiac anaesthesia, as well as anaesthesia for breast and thyroid surgery.

In 2022, Dr Du Plessis further expanded her expertise by obtaining a Postgraduate Diploma in Interdisciplinary Pain Management from the University of Cape Town. She is actively growing her practice to include the management of acute and chronic pain conditions, ensuring comprehensive care for her patients.

She has been working at Universitas Academic Hospital as a specialist anaesthesiologist from 2021 to 2026 and started her private practice in George as a member of the George Anaesthesia Associates where she provides anaesthesia services to a variety of surgical disciplines at Mediclinic George and George Surgical Centre. Some of these anaesthesia services include cardiothoracic anaesthesia.
